Emergency medicine foundation course 2015

WHO?

This course is ideal for those who:

– Have an interest in a career in emergency medicine, acute medicine or general surgery

– Are GP or foundation trainees with an upcoming A+E placement

– Want to locum in A+E

WHAT?

A one day, consultant led course, focusing on the management of common emergencies faced by junior doctors. For those with a particular interest in surgery, there will be a half-day session available where lectures will cover common surgical emergencies.

WHY?

Emergency medicine is a very demanding specialty and being the doctor responsible for the initial assessment, diagnosis and management of acutely unwell patients is a daunting prospect for most junior doctors.

This course covers some of the most common medical and surgical presentations, focusing on the practical steps in management, as well as the basic principles to provide a deeper understanding of the condition.
